If you are battling with your iPhone still vibrating when you mute or silence the iPhone ringer I will show you what to do to stop your iPhone from vibrating when either of these features is turned on.
However, according to Apple, when you silence or mute your iPhone ringer, it doesn’t ring but it vibrates to call your attention to your device. So, instead of your iPhone ringing using your ringing tone it vibrates when your phone receives a call or a notification from any app on your device.
So, in this guide, I will teach you how to stop your iPhone from vibrating in mute or silent mode.

Follow the steps below to turn on silent or mode mode on your iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
- Open the iPhone “Settings” app.
- Hit “Sounds & Haptics.”
- Toggle on “Silent” mode.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are unlike other iPhone models. The iPhone has an action button to turn on silent mode instead of using the Ring or Silent switch. So, users can use the silent mode action button to turn on silent/mute and turn off the feature without the ringer.
Turn on Silent using the Ring/Silent Switch
This works on all iPhone models with the ring/switch button to switch between silent and ring modes. If the switch is turned on, silent mode will be enabled and you will see “Silent Mode” at the top centre of your iPhone screen and when it’s turned off you will see the ringer menu appear.
- Locate the “Ring/Silent” mode button at the top of your “iPhone” side buttons.
- Switch it “Down” to enable silent mode. You will have “Silent Mode On” on your iPhone screen.
- Switch the button “Up” to enable “Ringer.”

You can prevent your iPhone from vibrating when it’s in silent mode. However, this isn’t part of the iPhone silent mode settings by default. But, you can personalize your iPhone mute or silent mode to neither ring nor vibrate when the mode is active.
